Lucille struggles with her mental and emotional health; Sister Julienne is deeply concerned by an angry red rash on a patient’s breast and a referral is quickly made to St Cuthbert’s.

Sister Julienne visits with an expecting mother who has a rare form of cancer. It may require the mother to give birth in a manner other than her choosing. Trixie and Sister Julienne discuss having to make difficult choices that conflict with their patients' wishes.

Shelagh visits looking for items that can be given away for a raffle. Sister Monica Joan seizes an opportunity to get rid herself of the tiresome amount of Sister Veronica's marmalade.

Sister Monica Joan thought she was going to see a Maypole dance recital. Instead, Poplar's children screaming and playing are reminding her of a battle reenactment.
